You don’t have to travel half way around the world. Virginia has some amazing spots, including this one in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The trail is moderate, but strenuous at times, and the variety is what makes it so fun! In places it’s rocky, others smooth, some wet with streams trickling across, but lush and green everywhere.

It’s a little under an hour to the top, and as soon as you get there, it’s immediately worthwhile. Such a gorgeous view in almost 360 degrees. Rolling mountains all around, and miles upon miles of vistas. If you want to really see it all, climb up just a little more to one of two rocky pinnacles.

To the right, the “climb” is more of a steep walk up the rock. It’s easy to reach the top, and plenty of room to move around. The edges are extremely steep so be careful, but this side is spacious so you can stay far from the cliff if you want. To the left, you can get a little higher if you’re willing to boulder a little. There’s standing room only at the top.

The two peaks is fantastic for a mountaintop elopement or engagement shoot. You can stand on one side, while your videographer/photographer gets the epic shots of you on the precipice from the other side. The distant mountain ridges roll on and on behind you, making for some truly spectacular shots.
